EONS17 took place in Barcelona in September 2024, marking EONS’ 40th anniversary. It was a bumper event featuring the usual high-quality sessions and speakers, along with memorable celebrations to mark this significant milestone in the organisation’s history. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on past achievements while also looking forward to shaping the future of cancer nursing.
EONS17 – September 16, 2024
The final day of EONS17 was packed with enriching discussions across oncology nursing. It began with sessions on rehabilitation and survivorship care, featuring systematic nurse-led interventions and strategies for empowering long-term survivors. The eHealth and digital innovations segment showcased cutting-edge advancements in digital health interventions, symptom management, and the role of AI in clinical trials. In the afternoon, we celebrated 40 years of EONS with a reflective panel discussion and focused on cancer care during exceptional circumstances, including experiences from crisis settings like earthquakes and conflict zones. The SIOPE-EONS collaborative session highlighted the transition from pediatric to adult care. The event concluded with an inspiring closing session, celebrating the best-rated abstracts and poster awards, recognising outstanding contributions to cancer nursing research, and announcing the ECND 2024 winner. A heartfelt thanks to all who made this final day impactful!

Today’s sessions were packed with valuable insights on patient-centered care, innovative symptom management, and advances in supportive care. From exploring the quality of life in older cancer patients to discussing the importance of nursing interventions in managing chronic pain, we covered a wide range of crucial topics.
