Strengthening sustainable cancer prevention in healthcare

European Cancer Nursing Day (ECND) will take place on 18 May 2021. This exciting flagship EONS event will, due to COVID-19, take place online again this year.

ECND21 will focus on the impact cancer nurses can have on preventing cancer. A special online event to celebrate ECND21 will take place on Tuesday 18 May from 19.00-20.15 CET. It will feature a recorded address to EONS by the EU’s Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides, plus an informative presentation on prevention from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), short films and a quiz on prevention that everyone can take part in.

This year’s ECND21 Competition, with the prize of free registration for the virtual EONS14 conference, invites you to be a star and make a short (up to 30 seconds) movie on your phone about prevention. You can download the Guidelines from the Further Information section of this page. The deadline is midnight (CET) on Sunday 9 May.

More details of the day, and how you can join in, will be revealed here soon and on social media with the hashtag #ECND21Go4Prevention. A toolkit of resources will be provided to help you find out how you can play your part.

So, stay tuned and put this important date in your diary. It’s going to be a wonderful day when we will celebrate cancer nursing together throughout Europe and underline the great importance of cancer prevention in healthcare.
