Action Plan on the European Pillar of Social Rights

The European Pillar of Social Rights sets out 20 key principles and rights, from the right to equal opportunities to employment support, from work-life balance to healthcare. Implementing the Pillar of Social Rights is a shared responsibility and political commitment of the EU institutions, national, regional and local authorities, social partners and civil society. This is why the European Commission has proposed the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan to turn these principles into concrete targets to be reached by 2030. EONS welcomes this proposal and especially the EU target that ‘’at least 60% of all adults should be participating in training every year by 2030’’. Cancer nursing is a dynamic profession and with all the advancements in medical research we need to equip healthcare professionals with the right skills and advanced education to fulful their daily tasks in order to achieve optimal cancer care for patients across the EU.
